Message from the Captain:
Hi Smithy,
Good to see the beer is happening, how exciting. Have you had a taste yet?
I wrote a blog on my myspace with a few pics, I attach one taken by Mayumi with this message.  Blogs here........

We've been doing a few festivals in Europe - wot terrible beer in
Portugal and Spain. Absolute s**t!
Are you calling the brew Stars And Pints rather than Damned Pale Ale?
Up to you although I prefer the latter as punk and the whole concept of
'stars' don't really go. That's for Duran Duran maybe, lol.
cheers - CS

15 YEARS ON

1994 was a cracking year for the pub regulars at the Black Bull in Preston.

Not only had the pub been named pub of the year for the second year running but it was the site of the launch of the first Hart Beer.

Pictured here with the first pints are myself along with  Landlord Stan Eaton and Paul Riley the west Pennines branch chairman.

Our award winning beer comes up trumps again... This time winning at the Leyton Orient Beer Festival held at Leyton Orient supporters club.
The bar has a well earned reputation for Real Ale and is well worth a visit even if you missed the festival.

Hart in The News.
John Smith hopes to reinvent Guild ale in time for 2012
Mr Smith said: "I would certainly be up for making a Guild ale if it's going to publicise Preston; I can do it and get it sold.
"I will try and get it back to its original flavour – a 5% full-flavoured bronze beer – but it would be good for it to be something special."

Welcome to Hart Brewery

The Hart Brewery has undergone some forced changes in the last 3 years which have resulted in an even higher quality range of ales.

Gone are the days of churning out 3 or 4 beers a month to please the ticker. The Brewer, John Smith, has cut production in order to concentrate on 6 core beers brewed to his full ability as a skilled brewer of fine ale.

We don't travel to fairs anymore but raise awareness of our beers by exchanging them with other small craft brewers across the country using pallet line. We send 18 of our casks and in turn receive 18 guest beers that are offered to our loyal customers. So if you are a landlord and have a local micro, please ask them to contact us.
