Over the next months we will be bringing out three special edition ales in honour of Captain Sensible and the Damned

The first will be Blackout Special. Named after the Damned Tour
The Second will be New Rose. One of The Damneds best songs
And the final one is to be announced...

Great beer John.... the 1st pint was a winner but the 2nd was sensational. We were all guessing which hops you used.... Cascade were mentioned? Nice citrus vibe to the beer - well done!

It's also quite moreish.... have you put dangerous drugs in it or something?

PS - we were laughing at old Malcome 'The Pistols were the 1st' Maclaren as we supped your ale..... 'Anarchy' WASN'T the first UK punk single now was it. Remind me what WAS someone........

A word from
Captain Sensible

Now call me fickle but I have a NEW favourite beer.

This small brewery in the north west had delivered some of their amazingly tasty Cestrian Hart ale to the Evening Star in Brighton (an excellent 'no frills' boozer) which as soon as I had me first glug I fell hopelessly in love with.

Its dark, strong, moody and takes no prisoners so I had to write to the people who made the glorious stuff and tell 'em how smitten I was (and could I have some freebies, etc...)

They said to drop in anytime so when we was up t'north last me and Monty took 'em up on the nice offer (belch) and I highly reccommend a trip to the Cartford Hotel, Cartford. Little Ecclesden, Lancs... if youre in the area.

Their Hart Brewery is in a shed behind the hotel. John Smiths the brewer and a bloody nice bloke to boot!
